The Beaches of Long Branch

Travel + Leisure Magazine has named Long Branch, NJ one of “20 Great American Beaches” in its July 2007 issue.

The Monmouth County beach joins such celebrated coastlines as Maui, Big Sur and Cape Cod, among other well-known seaside locales. The list of top 20 beaches was compiled after editors sifted through the country’s 95,000 miles of shoreline.

In a segment discussing the list on CNBC’s nationally televised “Power Lunch” show, Travel + Leisure Magazine’s Senior Consulting Editor Mark Orwoll led off with Long Branch, praising its amazing revitalization and raving that it is “the best beach, in terms of a comeback, that we’ve ever seen at Travel + Leisure.”

For Long Branch, the national recognition evokes a sense of pride and accomplishment.
